To stay up to date… That is what we thought during the further development of one of our most successful CD-player models. In the year 2000 the CD-S1 was our first CD-player. Then we added a 24 bit converter to the success model – the CD-S1.1 was born. Now, a few years later we have updated our “first” CD player again and present you the CD-S1.2 . The most notable changes probably are the digital inputs on the back of the device. Here the player can be supplied with digital signals via optical, coaxial or USB input. The signals then are further processed by the excellent analog part of the CD-S 1.2.
A better dynamic and more precision But we also improved the traditional CD section. Now a Sanyo drive unit is in charge for a clean sampling of your CDs. For the reading of the data the Sanyo chip DA11 is used. Downstream the processing is done by the converter PCM1796 from Burr-Brown. Hence a 24 bit/192 kHz playback is possible. An improved dynamic and a more precise playback is the benefit. Fully symmetrica the analog signal is processed further. Two 6N16 tubes operate in the signal path and supply the sound pattern with the certain charm of tubes. Optional the analog signal can be sent to the output via XLR or RCA.
